First AGM Minutes 2006

First Annual General Meeting held at Bolton Town Hall 24th June 2006

 

 

The meeting was opened by Colin Bates who outlined his ideas on the way forward for the newly formed association.

The meeting was opened up to the floor for suggestions and nominations for the required committee posts, they were as follows:-

After the first officials were elected the meeting continued with the first item being the venue and time of the next Annual reunion. The proposed venues were:-

 

Coventry

Chathan

Portsmouth

Plymouth

Return to Bolton

 

Portsmouth was accepted by majority vote.

 

It was proposed by Richard Smallwood that Veteran Didodians (crewmembers from the cruiser HMS Dido) should be granted honorary lifetime membership, this was unanimously seconded.

 

Membership fees were discussed, Des Cage proposed an annual fee of £5.00, this was discussed by the floor, Dennis Swann suggested for the first year a fee of £10.00 and to be reviewed at the next AGM. This was accepted by the floor.

 

The treasurer agreed to accept membership fees after the meeting closed, and to open the required bank account.

 

The meeting was then closed due to time commitments.
